Volunteers are chosen based on the information submitted. The more information I have about you, the more likely you are to be picked. An assignment is not guaranteed due to the limited number of slots and large number of applications. You will hear from me via email a few weeks before the convention on whether or not you have been chosen as a volunteer. Autograph Puller
These folks get to work behind the mysterious curtain pulling photos and autos for use on the floor.
Booth Sales
If you like talking with people, have a happy demeanor and can work under pressure, this job is for you. You will assist in selling items in the Official Pix booth.
Coupon Helper
Helper is the key word here. You must be articulate and friendly. You will assist customers with their coupon order forms and teach them the autograph hall process.
Crowd Control
Crowd control people keep isle-blocking crowds from forming. You must be able to firmly move people along while still being polite and professional.
Line Control
Line control people keep the lines organized and moving. You must be able to firmly move people along while still being polite and professional.
Door Control
This is a nice job for those who would like to sit. Door control people simply make sure that those without badges do not enter their door. You must be able to politely tell people where to enter the building to buy an entrance badge. All volunteers get some door duty time.
Foaters may do just a little bit of everything.
Or stand around doing nothing.
Floor Manager
These are the super volunteers. You must be able to manage people and situations. You must be highly motivated and have a lot of energy to make this experience wonderful for everyone. You'll be on your feet running around like a crazed person most of the time. Yay!
Guest Escort
Each guest must have one or more people sitting with them while they sign. This person is responsible for taking the appropriate coupons/cash, making sure the signer has enough photographs and pens and is generally comfortable. Guest escort slots are EXTREMELY limited and not all volunteers will get this opportunity. It is not possible to request sitting with a certain guest.

To be an OPX volunteer at this convention, you must:

  • Be aged 18 years or older.
  • Provide your own travel, accommodations, AND entrance badge.

    Compensation for your time to be announced closer to the convention.

  • How many shifts do you want to work? There are 8 available, you can work up to 6.
    Rank your preferred shifts in numerical order, 1 being your MOST preferred.
    There is an overlap in shift times so that volunteer posts are not left unattended while shift change is in progress.

    Thursday 2:00pm-7:00pm (5 hours)
    Friday 9:30am-2:30pm (5 hours)
    Friday 2:00pm-7:00pm (5 hours)
    Saturday 9:30am-2:30pm (5 hours)
    Saturday 2:00pm-7:00pm (5 hours)
    Sunday 9:30am-1:30pm (4 hours)
    Sunday 1:00pm-5:00pm (4 hours)
    Names of other friends/family with whom you want to share shifts. Also tell me if you need to alternate shifts in order to take care of children, etc.
