Q: What to we get for volunteering our time?
You will receive one random Celebration V autograph per hour worked at the end of your last shift. There may be other
perks, keep checking the perk page for anything that might be added.
Q: Can we have action figures signed instead of random photos for our compensation?
Your compensation for working with OPX is randomly distributed autographs. There is no logistical
process available to accommodate the signing of anything else.
Q: Do we receive free admission?
No. You must purchase your own ticket to the convention. Our volunteers are paid in autographs and various other perks.
Q: Do volunteers get preferential treatment or discounted coupons for autographs to benefit us when we're not working
and want an autograph from a guest?
No. If you do not receive the autograph you wanted in your compensation you will need to purchase your own coupons
for those guests. There is no discount or preferential treatment.
Q: What is the dress code?
You will receive a volunteer t-shirt which you will be required to wear while on duty in the autograph area. Costumes are not
allowed except for line control duty. However, you must be able to speak clearly and audibly through any helmet or mask.
Q: As a volunteer, will I be able to approach the guests and take pictures?
Even though you are a volunteer, we expect you to act in a professional manner. Approaching the guests while you are on duty for anything
other than OPX business would be considered inappropriate. However, many guests have been comfortable enough with their
escorts to pose for pictures.
It is completely up to the signing guests
whether to accommodate.
Q: How many shifts in a day can I work to meet the requirement?
A minimum of two shifts is required to work for OPX. These two shifts may be worked all in one day if you so desire.
Q: Are we required to volunteer all five days of the convention?
No, only 2 shifts of your choosing. Your shifts can occur on one day or multiple days.
Q: What's with the overlap of 30 minutes in the shifts?
The 30 minutes is the time we need to replace old volunteers with new volunteers. We do not want any place where a volunteer is absent
from their post.
Q: So if I work two shifts all in one day, for what hours do I get credit?
On Thursday, Friday & Saturday you get 10 hours credit. On Sunday you would get 8 hours credit.
Q: Is there any guarantee of assignments for volunteers (once the guest list is announced) or can I work with a certain actor?
Unfortunately there is no way to guarantee an assignment with a certain guest. Some guests bring their own assistant,
some guests request certain
assistants and guest schedules can suddenly change.
